Yellowstone

It’s August 2, 2012. Tonight we find ourselves in Butte, Montana after a great day at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. It’s been a long day, so I’ll do what a did yesterday…keep it short and share my favourite images of the day.

Yellowstone was beautiful! I didn’t know that the park extends over three states – Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. I also didn’t realize how big Yellowstone Lake is or that there was THAT MUCH geyser activity. Of course I knew about Old Faithful, but there are literally dozens of other geysers, mud volcanos, hot springs, and fumeroles.

Enjoy the photos!

Bison wander freely.

Beartooth Cafe – Cooke City, Montana – Northeast entrance to Yellowstone. Cool place!!!

Snow at the mountain pass before entering Yellowstone.

Yellow-bellied marmot.

Beautiful hot springs near Old Faithful.

Huge crowd waits for Old Faithful

Old Faithful getting ready.

Old Faithful awakes.

What everyone was waiting for.
